UFC 259 main event with a Middleweight champion Israel Adesanya and a newly crowned light heavyweight champion Jan Blachowicz. Israel Adesanya is moving up in weight to face the new king in light heavyweight division. If Israel beats Jan he’ll be the fifth fighter in UFC history to hold two belts simultaneously and the first with undefeated record.
But let’s start with Jan. He started in UFC as a middleweight but eventually moved up in light heavyweight. At the end of the day that division fitted him way better. He has one of the most amazing UFC comeback stories. After signing with UFC he lost his first four of his six fight and was on urge to being cut from UFC. But than suddenly something has changed. He won eight of his next nine fights including five stoppages and capture UFC light heavyweight belt where he flat lined Dominick Reyes in second round. People calling him Polish hammer not for no reason, he is a really powerful light heavyweight have a good grappling with really officiant ground game, he is so strong on a ground that some of his submissions may not be most technical but because of his power he’s capable to secure those wins even when it’s not most technical or pleasant for the viewers eyes.
He’s has power in his hands too. If you look back on his fights you can clearly see that he can knock out any guy on any given day with left or right hand it really does not matter. He is a mean nasty technical fighter with a lot of experience in octagon and deserves more respect on his name.
Adesanya has the ”it factor”
Coming back to Israel Adesanya. He emerged seemingly out of nowhere and capture promotions fans really quick with his fighting style and charisma he is the fighter who has that “It Factor” which brings friends and families to the screens to watch him fight. He quickly brought himself to UFC middleweight division elite by out striking and overwhelming every single opponent that was set to face him.
His debut was in 2018 and it only took six fights for him to capture UFC’s interim middleweight champion belt. Latter that year he was set to face Middleweight division champion at that time Robert Whittaker to unify his belt where he beat Whittaker by counter strikes in second round. Since then he just walked through middleweight divisions most dangerous guys and made it look easy.
His fighting style is one of the most dangerous in a promotion at this time. He has one of the highest striking rate, striking accuracy and striking defense witch means his chin is barely being touched by other guys. Because of his background in Muay Thai and Kickboxing he is an outstanding striker arguably the best striker in UFC at the moment and definitely best counter striker. His take down defense is 86% which means he’s barely been put on a ground, but not because the guys he fought not trying it’s because of his take down defense which is something unseen before.
Even though he is going up in weight class and adding some weights do not expect any lesser version of this man. He already has an experience in moving up in weight at other promotions so this is nothing new for him. Combining his experience, striking, takedown defense and fighter IQ he is dangerous for any man in any division. If you make any mistake in the octagon when you face this man, he’s gonna peace you up and make ugly.
So tune up this Saturday night and be the one to witness history! Because these guys are going to put a show.
Speltips:
I think Israel is gonna be to much for Jan now, I would say Israel Adesanya by unanimous decision here. From what I heard he’s gonna be lighter than light heavyweight supposed to be (witch is 205 pounds) and Jan on fight day is gonna be maybe 220 so is gonna be some weight difference for sure between those two, witch means it’s gonna be hard for Izzy to switch Jans lights out. Or Jan gets it done by the knockdown or TKO.
